Garter Snake in Water, 8x12 on Maple Wood
There are three types of Garter Snakes in WA; all are harmless to humans and relatively common. Though the one pictured here is called the Terrestrial Gartersnake (Thamnophis elegans), it can and does swim, often searching for food such as slugs, worms, snails, leeches, tadpoles, frogs, mice, fish, lizards, small birds, and even other snakes. This is a digitally modified photograph so that the image looks like a painting. I often work in this medium, which takes a lot of time and experimentation, and I love it for certain images. It creates an artsy and unique look. This is printed on maple wood, making the print even more artistic with striations of the wood grain showing through the image. Ready to hang and shipping included in price.
